The objective of the Simultaneous Interpretation module is to train professionals capable of performing an efficient simultaneous interpretation in situations analogous to conferences. The oral output of the student should adequately reflect the content of speeches produced in the source language, taking into account the register and terminology used. The aim of the module is also to familiarize future interpreters with operative and essential concepts for simultaneous interpretation, in order to acquire relevant technical knowledge for the area, as well as to develop a performance in a cabin for which they use intercultural skills and good practices.

Subtitling is a type of audiovisual translation whose final result is directly influenced by the restrictions of time and space imposed by the medium. In addition to the mastery of working languages, it demands from the translator a great power of synthesis and creativity. This module will offer an introduction to the main subtitling techniques complemented by a series of practical exercises in which the most popular tools in the market will be used. At the end of the module, the student will be able to legalize and synchronize videos independently, using the main computer tools available in the market and following the best practices for guaranteeing clarity and legibility of the subtitles.

This module aims to present an updated contextualization of business relations, particularly between China and Lusophone countries and regions. In concrete terms, the module aims to analyze the structure, characteristics, terminology and the respective methodologies and techniques of translation of commercial texts, addressing topics related to the translation of commercial correspondence, contracts, certificates, reports of various types and for various purposes, official letters, minutes, notices, memos, catalogs, operating manuals, advertisements, and marketing materials.
