Dr. Wuman Luo is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU). She received the Ph.D degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2013. Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis in Big Data, Spatial and Temporal data mining, Urban Computing, Medial AI, and Parallel Computing. Her research works have been published in the international well-known conferences and journals, including ACM SIGMOD, IEEE ICDM, ACM CIKM, IEEE ICDCS, DASFAA, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Frontiers of Computer Science, etc. She has been awarded as “2022 AI 2000 Most Influential Scholar Honorable Mention in Database” for her outstanding and vibrant contributions to this field between 2012 and 2021. Her paper “Smart healthcare: from IoT to cloud computer” was selected as Frontrunner 5000 Top Articles in Outstanding S&T Journals of China in 2018, another paper 'MR-DBSCAN: a Scalable MapReduce-Based DBSCAN Algorithm for Heavily Skewed Data' won 2023 FCS (Frontiers of Computer Science) Outstanding Paper Award. She and her students’ paper 'FGRL-Net: Fine-Grained Personalized Patient Representation Learning for Clinical Risk Prediction Based on EHRs' won Franklin V. Taylor Memorial Award – Finalist for the best paper in IEEE Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (IEEE SMC) 2023, another paper “Deep Learning for COVID-19 Prediction based on Blood Test” won Best Student Paper Award in Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Internet of Things (IoTBDS) 2021.  She has served as Principal Investigator or Principal Participant for several research and industrial projects, such as National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), National Natural Science Foundation of Youth Program, Demonstration Research and Application of Expressway Electronic Toll Collection System in Sichuan Province, Real-Time Toll System for Sichuan Province Mobile Telecommunication, etc.
