Dr. Jane Lung holds a PhD in legal and business discourse, and an M.A. in English for Specific Purposes with Credit from the City University of Hong Kong. She also has an M.A. in English Language Teaching from the University of Nottingham (U.K.) and a B.A. (Hons.) in Linguistic Science with Education from the University of York (U.K.). In addition, she has been awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in English Language Teaching, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Management of Extracurricular Activities in Schools from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Since 1999 Jane has been involved in more than 18 research projects, working closely with language specialists, subject specialists, ESP (English for Specific Purposes) practitioners and language teachers. She has been an assistant editor for the Journal of English for Academic Purposes. She has edited and reviewed international books, international journal papers and conference papers. Her research interests include ESP (English for Specific Purposes) and professional communication; applied genre analysis of academic and professional discourse such as legal, business, newspaper, advertising and other promotional genres; corpus linguistics; as well as language teaching and learning.
